Despite the reduction in the volume of Italian NPL deals in 2023, the rising importance of the secondary market, possible adjustments to state-guarantee arrangements, the enforcement of the EU directive on credit servicers and credit purchasers, and the influence of fiscal and monetary policies proposed by the Government, NPL transactions are certain to sustain a robust level of activity in the market in 2024.
